Incline
Year: 2013 | Medium: installation (architectural intervention, fluorescent lights) | Dimensions: 47x9x8’ (LWH) | Location: Incline Gallery; San Francisco, California
I removed a diagonal swath of plaster from the wall of an inclined hall, exposing its studs and lath. Five fluorescent tube fixtures were then placed along the floor and ceiling of the adjoining incline, making a rhomboid-patterned projection through the exposed lath. Shadows are cast in the image of light. In this corridor of zigzagging tube bulbs, all shadows became zigzags.
